Should our schools be teaching us more than the normal syllabus? Should we be learning about more life skills than academic subjects?

It is so important that children and young people can access "learning for life" to prepare them for independent living.

Some schools do offer cooking and baking from years 7 all the way to GCSE level but I think that it should be more tailored and specific to cooking for yourself, like not just making cakes every week.
It's really hard to choose just one of those options above though because I think all of them should be taught in schools!!

I think that mental health & healthy relationships should be taught in schools as it will prepare you for the future. You will be aware of what's healthy and what's not and be able to identify unhealthy habits and get yourself/friends out of that situation early.

I feel like all of the above are important subjects to be learning about in school. Each one has their own benefit in later life; and it would be great for them to be taught in schools.

Most schools have some sort of citizenship lessons for years 7-11 but I think they fail to meet what young people need to get for an education outside the curriculum and don't include enough practical skills, like personal finance.
